If you have attended the Gem City Car Classic in downtown Laramie in years past, chances are you have seen some unique cars from classic to cutting edge. This year the Gem City Car Classic will be held on August 27th from 11 AM to 4 PM in downtown Laramie and is free to the public. However the car classic is adding some new twists this year that will make the event even more fun for the whole family. If you are more into motorcycles than classic cars you are in luck! You can register to show off your motorcycle for only $10 in the show this year, and the winner of the best in show award wins half of the registration pot. That could be a pretty nice payout and is definitely worth the $10 to enter your prized motorcycle. You can pre-register for the event on the car classic's website or the day of the show at the corner of 3rd and Grand from 9 AM to 11 AM. This goes for all car registrations as well, which cost $25 per entry and include a t-shirt and all kind of other goodies.

This year not only are motorcycles being added to the show but also an awesome activity for kids, remote controlled car racing. At 1 PM on the day of the Gem City Car Classic, bring your youngsters downtown with their remote controlled cars for a little competition and of course prizes for the winners of each of the competitions. There will be races for each of three age groups, 5-12, 13-18 and 19+. If you are a kid at heart the 19+ race should be a great high speed competition so bring it!

If you are traveling to Laramie for the event make sure to check out the special hotel room rates available at certain hotels in Laramie. After the car show don't forget to check out the Naughty Pines Derby Dames bout at the Laramie Ice & Events Center to continue the fun filled day.
