Laramie Food

Last night over 500 Laramie residents teamed up to help support Allison Lepper in the Laramie High School Cafeteria. A spaghetti dinner was served to help benefit the Laramie teen who is currently fighting a battle against Lymphoma.

It's an unfortunate part of the business world, but for one reason or another some businesses just can't make a go of it and have to close their doors or change ownership. Laramie is no exception, especially due to tough economic times that have cause many people to stop buying items that aren't absolutely essential including food at restaurants.

Let's not be modest, there are some things that Wyoming simply does better than most. Beef is one of those things. As a major producer of beef cattle, people from all across the state know just what makes a quality steak.

Describing food is nearly impossible without some sort of comparison. How then shall I describe a place like Chente’s, with incomparable tastes and selections to any other restaurant in Laramie?

This summer along with some of the changes we reported on earlier, the Laramie Farmers Market downtown will also be adding some new vendors to their list of regular attendees. As normal a bulk of the products being sold at the market will again be very local; of the businesses signed up so far,16 are from Laramie area including Centennial, Fox Park, Cheyenne and Granite Canyon.

You've had that craving. It's 8 or 9 at night, you're hungry, you want something a little different, and you want the food to be brought to you. In Laramie, we are fortunate to have the answer to that craving, in a great many Asian restaurants. Not all of Laramie's Asian restaurants deliver, but there are many buffets and more importantly, there are many Asian restaurants.

Living in Laramie, when the weather changes, so do we... A recent poll on our sites showed that most of us believe that the Laramie weather affects our mood so when it starts getting warmer, we start feeling better. A lot of that could have to do with the activities that warmer weather opens us up to such as walking, bicycling, rock climbing, you get the idea. For some of us, warmer weather encourages us to leave the house in the evening and go out to eat (I'm not saying that we don't eat out in the winter, but a lot of us are kind of shut in during the winter, admit it). While Laramie boasts many fine dining establishments, in particular, Laramie has an incredible collection of Mexican food restaurants.

While some people avoid every possible fast food establishment with every ounce of their humanity, others like their food served hot, quick and right into their car. If you fit into the second category of Laramie residents, we want to know what you think is the best Drive-Thru in Laramie. Many factors can play into your decision in this decision, be it the quality of food you're purchasing, hours of operation, speed of service, friendliness of service, whatever! All we care is that you let us know what is the beset Drive-Thru in Laramie.

In 1968, a young man opened a restaurant in Cheyenne.The man was John Turner, a man who had been stationed at F.E. Warren Air Force Base during the Korean War. The restaurant he opened in ’68 was called Taco House. The franchise rights to that popular restaurant were sold and the franchise was soon renamed, Taco John’s, after the founder of the Taco House.
