The Laramie Weekend movie Forecast is written by Robert Roten, creator of the Laramie Movie Scope website.

The movie forecast is heating up more.  the traditional start to summer is Memorial Day, but movie summer opened a month before that with Iron Man Three and is picking up steam.

The latest Star Trek movie has arrived in Laramie.  Star Trek Into Darkness is getting good early reviews.  It rates a "B."

One of the best films of the year has been held over for another week.  Mud opened nationally two weeks ago to excellent reviews.  It rates a "B+."

The Great Gatsby turned out to be better than expected from early reviews.  Colorful and entertaining with an accessible story and strong performances, it rates a "B."  The images in Gatsby are stunning, particularly when viewed in 3-D.

In only two weeks of domestic release and three weeks in the rest of the world, Iron Man Three has already passed the billion-dollar mark worldwide, putting it into record territory.

The best holdovers here from last week are Mud, Iron Man Three, The Great Gatsby and another science fiction movie, Oblivion, starring Tom Cruise.
