Girl Scout cookies don't last long in my house, no matter how much we stock up on the mouthwatering treats. We had a good run last year - two weeks of hanging onto those delicious treats...but those Tagalongs and Samoas were just too hard to resist.

Thankfully, the sweetest time of the year has returned! Girl Scout Cookie sales have kicked off in Laramie, Cheyenne, and the rest of Wyoming. Let's take a second to celebrate before I spill all the details.

Okay, enough celebrating! It's time to order some cookies. Here's what you need to know:

Girl Scout Cookie Sales Are Open in Laramie and Cheyenne!

Daydreaming of Thin Mints and Do-si-dos? Me too. Good news - the Girl Scout troops of Laramie and Cheyenne are now accepting pre-orders until February 18! Though the days of Girl Scouts going door-to-door for orders have long since passed, you can locate a troop or find a booth with the handy Girl Scout Cookie Finder (find it here). You will start seeing booths popping up at shops and grocery stores from late March until mid-April.

How Much Will Cookies Cost This Year?

According to a flyer from the Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming, cookies have not seen a price increase for 2024. Here's what you'll spend on a box of your favorite flavor:

  • Thin Mints: $5
  • Caramel deLites/Samoas: $5
  • Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs: $5
  • Peanut Butter Sandwich/Do-si-dos: $5
  • Trefoils: $5
  • Adventurefuls: $5
  • Lemonades: $5
  • Toast Yay!: $5
  • GF Caramel Chocolate Chip: $6

Why Do Some Cookies Have Two Names?

You've probably noticed that a few Girl Scout Cookies have changed names over the years. Back in my days as a Girl Scout, 'Caramel deLites' were always called 'Samoas' and 'Peanut Butter Patties' were 'Tagalongs.' The names vary because two bakeries produce the cookies - ABC Bakers and Little Brownie Bakers. Little Brownie Bakers, for example, calls the coconut-caramel-deliciousness cookie 'Samoas' while ABC calls them 'Caramel deLite.' According to Taste of Home, each bakery has slightly different spins on the cookies; for example, 'Tagalongs' from Little Brownie Bakers have more peanut butter than ABC Baker's 'Peanut Butter Patties'

Why Do Girl Scouts Sell Cookies?

Girl Scout cookie sales are designed to help prepare troop members for a successful future by honing five essential skills: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics. All funds from the sales go to the respective troop to help fund service projects, activities, summer camps, and more.

How much a box of Girl Scout cookies costs throughout the years

February is the time of year we see Girl Scouts out hustling hard to sell their scrumptious cookies. We all know that the price of a box has gone up, but do you know how much the price has increased? Thanks to finance.yahoo.com, we now know.
