It was a snowy night in Laramie as Santa Claus made his grand entrance into Laramie. Kris Kringle rode in a horse-drawn carriage in the Gem City Starlight Parade on Friday, December 2nd as downtown Laramie held a holiday celebration.

Despite frigid temperatures the parade drew a good crowd and filled downtown, especially around the first street plaza where the Christmas tree lighting occurred. The fire pit in the plaza was a big hit because of the wintry weather! Families were able to enjoy all of the businesses decked out for the downtown Laramie window decorating contest as they headed downtown. The tree in the First Street Plaza was lit by the Laramie Main Street Alliance and the Lincoln Community Center served cookies and hot chocolate as everyone gathered for the parade. As for the first annual Bikini Run, the weather was a little chilly which seemed to keep many people from making an appearance at the event. Beth Young, the organizer of the events said

The Bikini Run was pretty fun! The snow falling made it look like a great wintery scene. Our first participants were a group of guys who came fully decked out in bikinis - impressive! We had about 15 total people. Although there was a lot of generated interest, I am still thankful for the 15 who came out. I believe the event was highly interesting to many people. I do hope to do this again next year and I hope to have a lot more involvement from participants. The bars had a nice time!!
