A few weeks ago, all we knew about newly elected ASUW President Joel Defebaugh was that he was a junior studying Political Science. Following a morning visit to Laramie Live, we got to know the president a little bit better...

Up to this point in his time at the University of Wyoming, Defebaugh has been an ASUW Senator and an RA in the residence halls. Now that he's been elected president, the Casper native says he is looking forward to the greater impact he will be able to have on UW students. He hasn't been in office long, and while he says there aren't any perks for the top-ranking student position on campus such as a designated parking spot, the real perk is interacting with students.

Along those same lines, Defebaugh says he is looking forward to being visible on campus and conversing with many students. You can listen to the full Laramie Live interview with Defebaugh and show host Kari Eakins below, and you can listen to the full audio from every edition of Laramie Live by visiting the show page.
