Your Question:

I live on the south side of Laramie and my street has no city parking permit sign or any other restriction. Yesterday there was no parking available in front of my apartment building so I parked across the street in front of my neighbors house. I walked out today to find a 24 hour notice from LPD to move my car or it will be towed. How is this possible?

The City's Response:

The 24 hour ordinance is initiated by and owner or renter by calling Dispatch. It is not a warning or tow initiated by the police. If a vehicle is parked on the street in front of a persons property and that person wants it marked, the police will do so, then check after at least 24 hours to see if the car is still there. If it is we tow it. If not, there is no violation and the case is closed.
