Ask The City – Why is Construction on 9th Street Taking So Long?

What is going on with the construction on 9th? Its kind of ridiculous that it is not finished yet. There is no reason that it should take this long especially since the entire street is closed and they don't have to worry about traffic.
The City's Answer:
The date for substantial completion of the work on 9th by Simon Contractors and their subcontractors is October 15. Groundwater issues have also forced some delay in completion. Sub-base material needs to adequately dry out before final stages of work can occur. Although surface material is dry, the lower depths that support final layers have been slow to dry.
