Wyoming Man Wanted for Alleged Child Sex Crimes in California
A Wyoming resident who is reportedly wanted in California for child sex crimes was last seen Wednesday in Torrington, and authorities are asking people to be on the lookout for him.
Robert M. Crowell is wanted on a felony warrant for "various felony and misdemeanor counts of sexual acts with a child 14 or under," according to the Torrington Police Department.
Sgt. Polson told K2 Radio News that officers went to a home Wednesday in an effort to find Crowell, but had no luck.
"We tried to contact him at a residence that we knew he frequents, and were not able to do so," Polson explained.
Crowell was last seen on foot headed north in the area of Road 41 R and Road 43 north of Highway 26 in Torrington at roughly 6:40 p.m. Wednesday.
He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with a white logo, a blue or black long-sleeved plaid shirt and blue jeans.
Crowell stands 6'3" tall and weights 230 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.
Police say he could be driving one of three vehicles: a dark green 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe, a black 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe or a pewter 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe.
Anyone who sees Crowell should not approach him, police say, but should call the Torrington Police Department at 307-532-7001.
