A man was arrested in Gillette Sunday afternoon after leading law enforcement on a 25-mile pursuit along Interstate 90.

Moorcroft resident Anthony Delfino, 23, was arrested in Gillette around 1:15 p.m. Sunday shortly after crashing the 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle on which he fled.

The chase started at 12:38 p.m. when a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper tried to stop Delfino for a registration violation near mile post 150 on I-90 westbound. The Patrol says in a news release that Delfino did not stop attempted to elude the trooper, reaching speeds of 140 mph.

The pursuit entered the city limits of Gillette at exit 126 at 12:50 p.m. Law enforcement opted to terminate the chase for the safety of the public, Delfino and the pursuing officers.

Less than twenty minutes later, law enforcement received a report that Delfino and the motorcycle had crashed at Echeta Road and Burma Avenue in Gillette. Delfino fled the scene of the crash on foot, but Campbell County Sheriff's deputies found him just a couple of blocks away.

Law enforcement was not pursuing Delfino when he sped around a corner and lost control of the motorcycle.

Delfino was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was treated at the scene for minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.

Troopers arrested Delfino and booked him into the Campbell County Detention Center on charges of misdemeanor marijuana possession, eluding, reckless driving, driving under the influence, driving on a suspended driver's license, speeding and expired registration. Delfino was also reportedly booked on a Campbell County warrant or failing to appear on previous charges of driving while suspended and speeding.

Both the Campbell County Sheriff's Office and the Gillette Police Department assisted the Patrol in apprehending Delfino.
