Wyoming High School Cross Country Week 6: Oct. 1-3, 2020
The final month of the high school cross country season is upon us. The state championship meets are only three weeks away.
Lander starts the weekend off with a small meet on Thursday, while Torrington heads out-of-state. The bigger meets are on Friday with Cody, Evanston, and Wheatland hosting. The Wheatland meet has attracted several schools, which means it will be broken down into different races. The week concludes with one meet in Wright on Saturday.

Thursday, Oct. 1:
Lander Invitational XC Meet at Lander G.C. – Green River, Lander, Lyman, Riverton, Wind River
Elena Jensen from Lyman won the girls' race, while Lander took the team crown.
Team Scores: Lander 35, Lyman 48, Green River 51, Riverton NTS
Sam Kistemann won the boys' race and helped Lander to the team title.
Team Scores: Lander 22, Lyman 57, Riverton 71, Green River 80, Wind River NTS
Mark Matthews Memorial Meet at Chimney Rock G.C. in Bayard, NE – Torrington + Nebraska schools
The Blazers won the girls' team title with 30 points. Sera Glass took second place to lead the Torrington girls, while Aydan Loya placed fifth as the top Torrington boy.
Friday, Oct. 2:
Cody Foxes and Hounds at Olive Glenn G.C. – Buffalo, Cody, Lovell, Powell, Rocky Mountain, Sheridan, Thermopolis, Worland
Riley Smith of Cody and Resse Charest from Sheridan won the 5K races, individually. The Cody girls and Sheridan boys won the team crowns.
Evanston Invitational at Purple Sage G.C. – Evanston, Jackson, Mountain View, Rock Springs, Star Valley + Utah schools
Muriel Jones of Jackson and Peter Visser from Star Valley won the individual races, while the Jackson girls and Evanston boys captured the two team titles.
Wheatland Invitational at Lewis Park –
Meet No.1 - Burns/Pine Bluffs, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne South, Douglas, Kelly Walsh, Saratoga/Encampment, Wheatland
Meet No. 2 - Cheyenne East, Laramie, Natrona County, Newcastle, Rawlins, Rock River, Thunder Basin

Saturday, Oct. 3:
Brittany Rentas Memorial XC Meet at Hay Creek G.C. in Wright – Big Horn, Hulett, Moorcroft, Sundance, Tongue River, Wright
Mallory Jones from Moorcroft and Wyatt Ostler of Tongue River won the individual races. The Hulett girls and Tongue River boys came away with the best team scores.
