The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory Monday morning for Laramie and the surrounding areas that runs through Tuesday morning.

The advisory was issued for 11 a.m. Monday morning until 11 a.m. Tuesday and says Laramie should expect two to six inches of snowfall with winds gusting over 40 miles per hour. There is a 50 percent chance of snow after 3 p.m. for Monday.

Six to 14 inches are expected in the Snowy and Sierra Madre ranges.

From the National Weather Service:

"Snow will develop late this morning or early this afternoon and spread east through the day. A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow is in effect. Slick and snow covered roads are expected by this evening with considerable blowing snow, especially east of the Laramie Range."
