UW to Offer Three Scholarships for Transfer Students
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — The University of Wyoming is trying to attract community college students to campus with three new scholarships.
The three scholarships offer varying amounts of money to community college students both in Wyoming and surrounding states in hopes of getting them to finish their education at UW. All three scholarships require an associate's degree and at least a 3.4 grade-point average.
The Western Undergraduate Exchange offers 150 percent resident tuition per year to student residents of nearby states. Normally, out-of-state students would pay more than $15,000 for UW tuition.
A second scholarship offers the same discount as the WUE, but for Nebraska students.
The UW Transfer award will pay $1,000 per year to both resident and non-resident students who don't qualify for the other scholarships.
