The Laramie Plainsmen swimming and diving team claimed the Southern Wyoming Athletic Conference championship Saturday in Evanston, WY after two days of competition.

Friday and Saturday at the Happy Jack rec area on Wyoming highway 210 east of town, the Laramie High School Nordic ski program will be hosting their own Laramie Invitational. Seven teams will be competing in two days of cross-country skiing.

It's not everyday that a collegiate student-athlete gets to compete in his old high school. University of Wyoming junior Tyler Cox will get to enjoy that moment Sunday, when the Wyoming Cowboys wrestle the South Dakota Jackrabbits in Gillette.

Thanks to a generous financial pledge from several UW athletics supporters, the University of Wyoming wrestling program will begin a project to significantly renovate its facilities.
