The 17th annual Snowy Range Dance Festival will be held at UW’s Laramie campus on July 20-31, 2011. This festival is incredibly important for pre-professional dancers as it gives them an extended period of time to focus on the art form while they get to study with distinguished faculty and professional companies.

UW Summer Theatre’s final offering of the season, “A…My Name is Alice” opens Tuesday July 12th and runs through the following Saturday. All performances start at 7:30pm in the Studio Theatre of the Fine Arts Building. “Alice” is a musical review directed by Leigh Selting, featuring a cast of five actors who play various roles in unrelated vignettes throughout the show.

The Snowy Range Summer Theatre and Dance Festival presents “Forgiving John Lennon,” written and directed by UW professor and playwright William Missouri Downs from June 28-July 2. Tickets are $10, $8 for seniors, $5 for students and all showings start at 7:30pm. The play features a small cast, but promises to elicit a big response.

The Roaring Twenties will come back with a vengeance when Broadway’s razzle-dazzle smash musical “Chicago” hits town. Do not expect to see the movie version here.  We’re doing the stage version that has since become the longest-running Broadway revival in history.
