Albany County Emergency Management says its Public Warning System is "working as expected," even though no emergency sirens sounded during Tuesday afternoon's Tornado Warning.

If you’ve been hearing an emergency siren going off, there is NO emergency. The Emergency Alert Sirens for the City of Laramie is malfunctioning.

Don't be alarmed if your phone goes off around 12:18pm on Wednesday.

There were reports that two people received minor injuries.

Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr took to Twitter Sunday evening to criticize the decision to activate the sirens.

Keep in mind, it's only a test -- there's no need to contact emergency officials or take cover.

Again, the sirens you hear Friday are only a test.

The outdoor system is an all-hazards emergency system designed to warn local residents of any life-threatening situation in the area.

There's always a chance that the test will be canceled due to inclement weather, but the Friday forecast looks good.

Residents need not be alarmed.
