While Laramie does have a few nice places to take your kids swimming, with the Recreation Center hands down being the best option in town, there is not a major water park in the immediate area. Fortunately Water World in Denver is only two hours away and can make for a great getaway to entertain kids and adults alike.

This summer along with some of the changes we reported on earlier, the Laramie Farmers Market downtown will also be adding some new vendors to their list of regular attendees. As normal a bulk of the products being sold at the market will again be very local; of the businesses signed up so far,16 are from Laramie area including Centennial, Fox Park, Cheyenne and Granite Canyon.

Looking to get in touch with your cowboy attitude but don’t have a horse? Well, you don’t need a horse to play like a cowboy—only horseshoes. However, it may be useful to know a cowboy or two to get a hold of some old horseshoes.

Getting sick of playing catch? Then grab a bat and head out to Laramie’s baseball fields. And if you’re planning on playing with people who are new to playing baseball, you might want to consider bringing along a tee, or they may never get off home plate.

As the grass starts to turn green, the soccer balls begin to get restless in the garage. It’s as if they can sense the new grass creeping up from the soil. With the grass calling, it’s time to get your friends and family together and head to a soccer field.

Escaping to the mountains has long been a pastime for Laramie residents. The public land surrounding Laramie is filled with campsites awaiting visitors with fires and s’mores. Camping provides an affordable and fun way to get out of town and enjoy the scenery.

In the shadow of the ultimate Frisbee explosion is Frisbee golf. Frisbee golf is ultimate’s more relaxing counter-part (no running required). However, Frisbee golf also shares similarities with regular golf: mainly because Frisbee golf can be as frustrating as regular golf if you get into the sport.

The most obvious place to play football in town is at War Memorial Stadium, but unfortunately, the field is not open to the public. Instead, football fans will have to content themselves with the variety of parks and indoor facilities around town.

While it is supposed to snow this weekend, the weather lately which has broken 15,000 US records has had things feeling a lot like summer here in Laramie.
