The City of Laramie has announced their The 2013 Fire in the Sky fireworks display will be at 10:00 PM on Thursday, July 4th, unless there are issues with the weather, in which case it will move forward on the Friday, July 5th.
An inter-departmental panel addressed questions from the public about the Squirrel Creek Fire on Tuesday night. Approximately 300 people gathered in the Laramie Jr. High gymnasium Tuesday evening to get the latest about the blaze and to pose questions to the panel. Here are some informational highlights from the discussion.
The City of Laramie made the decision on Monday to cancel the Fire in the Sky fireworks show. They said the dry conditions and significant fire threat in Albany County led to the decision by the planning team, even though they had full confidence in Stonebraker Fireworks Company to safely conduct the show.
My favorite part of the 4th of July has always been the fireworks. While fire restrictions will keep pretty much everyone in southeast Wyoming from setting off their own, you'll still be able to enjoy a fireworks display in Laramie on Independence Day thanks to Fire in the Sky.

On Friday evenings a buzz about fire can be heard around downtown Laramie. No need to call emergency services, the fire is for entertainment. Laramie Entertainers, a local group, hosts "Friday Night Fires" which is a free and public event. Trained performers use various fire equipment and do what is referred to as fire dancing.
