Six-Car Accident on Grand Avenue Hospitalizes One

A six-car accident on Grand Avenue today left one person hospitalized, and closed a portion of the road for over an hour.

The accident occurred at 9:44 this morning, when a car traveling east crossed into the westbound lane colliding with an oncoming vehicle near the 1900 block of Grand Avenue.

Drivers on Grand at the time made efforts to avoid the scene, but in their efforts, four other vehicles became involved in the accident.  One of those involved was struck when a swerving car went over the curb, into a University of Wyoming parking lot.

The 1900 block of Grand Avenue was sealed off for nearly an hour and a half while the scene was cleared.

Laramie Police say the driver who crossed into the Westbound Lane was sent to Ivinson Memorial Hospital and will be cited for driving left of center.
