Shop With A Cop Returns To Laramie!
The Laramie Police Department, Wyoming Highway Patrol, Albany County Sheriff's Office, Wyoming Game and Fish, and the University of Wyoming Police Department are teaming up again this year for the 2nd Annual Laramie area "Shop With A Cop" event on December 17th.
Around 30 elementary students from Albany County School Districts will be picked up from their respective schools by an officer and taken to Walmart by a patrol vehicle. All officers and kids should be at Walmart around 3:15 pm, with each student getting to shop with an officer and spending approximately $150 as they wish.
The intent of this event is to provide these children with a little merrier holiday season as well as provide them with a positive experience with law enforcement. Each family will also be provided with all the groceries needed to make a full holiday meal with their loved ones at home.
All remaining funds collected by the Foundation will go to Albany County School District #1, Laramie Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Family Promise, and Climb Wyoming.
The monetary donation for this event is being provided by the generous donations from Walmart Supercenter, local businesses, members of our community, The Wyoming Hunger Initiative, and the Laramie Police Department Foundation.
Donations can be given online at https://www.lpdfoundation.org/support-us.
