Riverton Man Arrested For Assault in Laramie
The Laramie Police Department is reporting that a 25-year-old Riverton man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery.
Just after midnight on January 26, a Laramie Police Officer on routine patrol saw some people arguing at the intersection of 2nd and Ivinson in Laramie and stopped to investigate.
As a result of the investigation, Arhen T. Wempen was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery. Mr. Wempen’s bond has not yet been set and he remains incarcerated at the Albany County Detention Center as of Tuesday morning (January 28).
Aggravated assault and battery is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than ten years.
At this time, these charges are merely accusations and the Defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
