Dust off those running shoes, it's a new year!  The Downtown Laramie Business Association is helping the community get a jumpstart on their New Years Resolutions. The first annual Resolution Run gets underway this weekend.

The run starts January 7th and registration begins at 9 a.m. at Laramie's Historic Train Depot, and it's only $15 to register. If you're a student or a member of the High Plains Harriers Running Club in you will receive a $5 discount, and kids 10 year old and younger are free! All proceeds will go towards the DLBA's General Fund to help sponsor other events throughout the year. You can download the registration form and bring it with you on the morning of the run if you would like to do so. Upon registering you will receive a free T-shirt and a certificate of completion, so bring the family and get ready to kick those bad habits at 10 a.m. Saturday!

The 3.1 mile route begins at the Depot and winds its way across the Garfield street footbridge and onto the Laramie Greenbelt; you can check ou the full route on the map below. Trey Sherwood, Executive Director of the DLBA says to, "keep in mind you do not have to be a professional runner to participate, it's just a fun way to get some exercise with great people".

As it is January, the weather does not look to be ideal with highs only reaching the upper 20's, but with that being said it is Laramie, so give it a minute and it just might change.  In order to keep you focused on the run and not the cold, there are incentives! The top three winners in each of the five age groups will receive a $10 DLBA gift certificate to use at their favorite downtown business.

So, join the 1st annual Resolution Run and get your year started on the right foot!
