A couple of leadership changes have been announced in the Public Health Division at the Wyoming Department of Health, according to spokeswoman Kim Deti.

Deti says Stephanie Pyle, who had served as the division's acting senior administrator since July, has now been appointed to that position on a permanent basis.

Pyle has previously served as the division's deputy director and has also worked as a deputy administrator at the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services.

The other major announcement is the appointment of Dr. Alexia Harrist as state health officer. She is already the state epidemiologist and Public Health Sciences Section administrator. Harrist joined the Wyoming Department of Health in March after working at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The two new appointments fill positions which had been filled by Dr. Wendy Braund, who left the department in July for a job in Pennsylvania.
