The 2016 season debuted successfully for the Naughty Pines Derby Dames last Saturday at the Laramie Ice and Events Center.

The Naughty Pines defeated the Magic City Rollers from Billings, MT by a final score of 169-82.

The Pines MVP's of the bout included Captain Rida Cruel and Eskimaul.

Rida Cruel said it was great to open with a victory.

"I think at first, it was a struggle to get our teamwork together, but by second half, we were clicking and really doing some good work together."

The evening also raised funds for charity. The Pines partnered with "HOME on the RANGE" animal sanctuary and gave a portion of the proceeds to the charity.

Rida Cruel mentioned this charity is close to her heart, as she volunteers at the animal sanctuary.

"There's over 40 animals that have been relocated to 'HOME on the RANGE.' It's not like an adoption, find a new home for them. That's their forever home. It's a wonderful place for these animals that didn't have any other place to go."

Naughty Pines Derby Dames will also be partnering with The ARC, Climb Wyoming and Safe House at future bouts.

The Pines next bout will be May 21st against the Black Hills Wildfire from Rapid City, SD. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
