Chase Robbins year wasn’t going all that well until Thursday night in Laramie when he topped the field in the 2017 Mr. T Xtreme Bull Riding.

Robbins rode the bull named “Scarface,” from Burch Rodeo, to a score of 87 points and came through as the Mr. T champion. His ride was during the second of four sections Thursday night, so he had to wait it out, but it all paid off. Robbins earned a new buckle, some new spurs and a paycheck of $3,861.

Here’s a look at the winning ride from the Idaho cowboy:

Robbins was joined by KOWB’s David Settle for a post-victory recap:

Oklahoma cowboy Guthrie Murray took second with an 85-point ride on Salty Dog. A pair of 84.50 scores split third place. Jordan Spears of California and Jordan Hansen of Alberta, Canada post those rides.

A capacity crowd was treated to just seven total qualified rides out of 34 bull riders in the Mr. T. The three others were an 82.50 score by Oklahoma cowboy Garrett Tribble. An 80.50 ride was turned in by California’s Colby Demo. The final ride was an 80-point effort by Colorado cowboy Jason Blasdel aboard Wolf of Wallstreet.

Summit ProRodeo was the stock contractor for the Mr. T Xtreme Bull Riding. Sub-contractors used included Burch Rodeo of Gillette, Big Rafter Rodeo from Oklahoma and Flying 5 Rodeo out of Washington. Over $12,000 was paid out.

After some timed-event slack Friday morning, the PRCA rodeo performances will take place in the rodeo arena at the Albany County Fairgrounds Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
