Laramie will host Wyoming’s Summer Senior Olympic Games in 2017 and 2018.  It will be the third time that Laramie has hosted the Games since they began in 1987.

Winter Games for the 2015-16 season will be held in Cody, and the Summer Games of 2016 will take place in Sheridan.

The Laramie Parks and Recreation Department will spend the next six months putting together volunteer committees to help with promotions, events, and the opening and closing ceremonies.

There will be plenty of opportunities for the Laramie community to volunteer and provide sponsorships.  The Parks and Recreation Department is inviting any businesses, organizations, or individuals who would like to support the Games to get in touch with the city.

Those interested can contact Recreation Manager Jody Guerin via email at jguerin@cityoflaramie.org or by calling 721-5259.
