Wreaths Across America was born in 1992 when Vermont wreath maker Morrill Worcester had a surplus of wreaths. Instead of getting rid of them, he drove them to Arlington Cemetary to lay them upon the graves of the fallen.

Fast forward 29 years later, and over 2,500 cemeteries across the nation have joined in this tradition to honor those who served. Greenhill Cemetary in Laramie is part of this effort.

On December 18, they laid 325 wreaths across the cemetary, remembering those who came before so that their memories do not fade. This is the fourth year in which Laramie has taken part in Wreaths Across America, and they hope that one day they will be able to cover all 1,700 veteran graves with wreaths.

Below are some pictures from the ceremony and the wreath-laying.
