Laramie Man Sentenced For Methamphetamine Possession
A Laramie man charged with felony possession of a controlled substance has been sentenced to three to five years today in Albany County District Court.
Lane Halverson, 55, was arrested in May 2016 after an Albany County Sheriff’s deputy found methamphetamine in his vehicle.
Albany County District Court Judge Tori Kricken said the court is required to consider a wide variety of factors when making its decisions and said due to Halverson's lengthy criminal history, it was apparent he required a high level of support and structure in order to achieve success.
In return for a guilty plea on one count of possession, the state dropped two other possession charges against Halverson and recommended a split sentence, which the court declined.
