Steven J. Mullen, from Laramie, died Wednesday after apparently falling into a fan unit at the State of Wyoming Liquor Warehouse according to Laramie County Coroner Martin Luna. Mullen was 57 years old.

A release from Luna says Mullen was conducting tests on an HVAC unit at the warehouse when the accident occurred on Wednesday. An autopsy conducted Thursday morning showed Mullen died of multiple blunt and sharp force injuries.

“It is deeply saddening to hear this news. My family’s thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family,” Governor Matt Mead said in a release. “We will have further information as it becomes available to our office.”

Mullen was the owner of Mullen's heating in Laramie. He is survived by his wife, Cindy and their son, Justin. He was working at the warehouse as a contract employee according to the Governor's office.

The details of Mullen's death are still being investigated by the Laramie County Coroner's Office, the Cheyenne Police Department and Wyoming Department of Workforce Services. The Coroner is still waiting on toxicology tests conducted, which may take six to eight weeks.
