Laramie Man Charged with Felony Possession
According to a the Laramie Police Department, on Friday (January 31) a 22-year-old Laramie resident, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance
On January 31, 2020, at about 5:50 PM Laramie Police Officers responded to the 1300 Block of South 17th Street to conduct a welfare check on a male subject.
As a result of the Officers’ investigation, Bernie K. Underwood (22) was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, 2nd offense driving while under the influence, open container in a vehicle, and valid license required.
Underwood was released from the Albany County Detention Center to a court-approved adult after posting 10% of a $5,000.00 bond.
Possession of a Controlled substance is a felony if any person is convicted for a third or subsequent offense under this paragraph, including convictions for violations of similar laws in other jurisdictions. It is punishable by imprisonment for a term of not more than five years, a fine of not more than five thousand dollars, or both.
The additional charges are all misdemeanors.
At this time, these charges are merely accusations and the Defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
