Laramie law enforcement is investigating the events that led to the death of a child yesterday in Laramie.

Albany County Sheriff’s Deputies got a call at about 5:53 p.m. yesterday about a four-month-old child not breathing on the 4600 block of Bobolink Lane. The Laramie Police Department and Laramie Fire Department also responded.

When they arrived at the scene, officers found the child in a car seat inside a vehicle. They took the child out of the seat and began life-saving measures. The child was then taken to Ivinsion Memorial Hospital, where the child was later pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation found that the child had been left in the car for several hours, from about 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Undersheriff Josh DeBree said the Sheriff's Department is not currently releasing any other information on the situation, citing the pending investigation.

We will update this story with more information as it becomes available.
