Laramie Laughs for a Cause 2017
Laramie's11th annual "Laughs for a Cause" event will take place on Friday, February 10. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvers will be made available during the silent auction that will precede the 8 p.m. show.
This year's featured comedian is Karen Rontowski. A Massachusetts native, Rontowski has performed shows across the country. In the span of her 20+ year career, she has opened for comedy legends such as Bob Hope and has been featured on television programs such as "The Late Show with David Letterman." In addition to her comedy career, Rontowski also works as a paranormal investigator and tarot card reader.
The event will be put on by Soropiomist International of Laramie, an organization founded to empower women and girls and help them realize their potential by offering scholarships such as the "Live Your Dream Award" Scholarship, which is awarded to female heads of household that attend universities or trade schools. The Soroptimist International organization has more than 3000 clubs in more than 120 countries.
The money raised in last year's "Laramie Laughs for a Cause" went to local charities such as CLIMB Wyoming, SAFE Project, Project Graduation, Laramie Youth Crisis Center, and more.
