This weekend, Laramie's own Gryphon Theatre will host the 5th annual "Christmas at the Gryphon", hosted this year by Whitewater Church.

The event, which takes place on Sunday, December 23 at 7 p.m., is open to the public and hopes to raise money for the Laramie Soup Kitchen. In the past, the event has been benefited other organizations such as The Downtown Clinic, Interfaith Good Samaritan, and Climb Wyoming.

The main event of the evening will feature musicians from local organizations, including churches, performing what event organizer Jeff Parkins calls "nontraditional Christmas tunes."

Because of the amount of food drives currently underway to support the Laramie Soup Kitchen, no food items will be accepted. There will however, be volunteers on hand able to collect donations by cash and card. Parkins noted that there is no specific monetary goal for the event, but that "the only goal is that the community of Laramie band together and help feed and love the hungry." For more information about donating, please visit the Laramie Soup Kitchen website.
