Wyoming sophomore running back Jevon Bigelow has chosen to depart the Cowboy football program for personal reasons.

Head coach Craig Bohl made the announcement in a release from UW Athletics Monday afternoon.

“I spoke with Jevon (Bigelow), and he told me for personal reasons he has decided to leave our program,” said Bohl.  “We wish him well in his future, and we wish his family well.”

Bigelow played in 10 games last season for the Pokes with one start, at Missouri. He ran for 292 yards on 69 carries with two touchdowns. Bigelow averaged 4.2 yards per game and 32.4 yards per game. Three times last season he ran for 50 or more yards in a game with a career-best 58 against San Jose State.

There will be no further comment from University of Wyoming Athletics officials on Bigelow’s departure.

The sophomore did not participate in any spring practice.
