The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has posted a Fire Watch for Friday afternoon that includes the city of Laramie and much of the surrounding area.

Far western Laramie County is also included in the watch area.

The agency posted the following on its website:

A relatively warm and breezy day is expected Friday. Afternoon humidity will combine with westerly wind gusts of 30 mph, to create critical fire weather conditions. Fires can spread quickly under these weather conditions. A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for the south Laramie Range and Laramie Valley for Friday afternoon. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
