Update: Laramie Police say the closed streets are now open.

Update: The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has issued this statement on the Saturday flooding in Laramie:

Laramie got pounded yesterday with heavy rain that caused flash flooding for much of the city. This morning's CoCoRaHS reports from Laramie show as much as 2.73 inches of rain fell in a very short amount of time. Please refer to the link below to see where rain fell across southeast Wyoming and the northern Nebraska Panhandle. More rain expected this afternoon, with Flood Watches remaining in effect through midnight tonight. Stay weather aware today! If encountering flooded roads, turn around, don't drown!

Original Post: Flooding was reported on Saturday in Laramie as well as more rural areas of Albany County.

Laramie Police on Saturday asked people to avoid an area of town due to flooding. The agency posted this comment on its Facebook page:

"Please stay away from 3rd and 4th streets north of Harney due to flooding. We will update when it recedes. Thank you in advance."

Meanwhile, the Albany County Sheriff's Office posted the following:

*****ROAD CLOSURE*****
Fox Creek road has been closed at Highway 230 and at Mile Marker 5 due to flooding. Portions of the road are damaged. Albany County Road and Bridge crews will be working to clear and repair the road today. Please avoid the area. There is no timetable on when the road will reopen. Updates will be posted as our crews make progress.

Laramie, as well as several other Wyoming communities, remain under a flood watch on Sunday according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service:

Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected again today beginning early in the afternoon and continuing through the night. There is a risk of flooding as storms will be slow moving with heavy rain. Please do not drive in flooded waters, avoid low spots in hilly terrain, and avoid recently burned areas!
