The Annual Dog Day in the Park is set for Sunday, August 26th in Washington Park from noon to 4 p.m. Laramie Parks & Recreation will have all sorts of fun, free activities for you and your favorite canine companion.

Of course, one of the signature events in the opening of the wading pool in Washington Park to dogs. The pool will be closed to the public and open to dogs only. Parks & Rec says there will also be an agility course, a dog show (costumes encouraged), Therapy Dog information and a variety of canine treats.

In addition, the Laramie Animal Shelter will be holding a low-cost micro-chip clinic. It will cost $20 to get your canine micro-chipped and they must have proof of current rabies vaccination, either a valid rabies tag or certificate of up to date vaccination, unless they are under 16 weeks of age.

The City does warn that the leash law still applies during Dog Day in the Park, so dogs need to be properly leashed and restrained throughout the event.
