CLCHD: COVID Hospital Stays Can Cost Thousands, Vaccines Are Free
The level of community transmission of COVID-19 in Laramie County remains high, according to the CDC, and the Cheyenne-Laramie County Health Department is urging everyone 12 years of age and older to get vaccinated.
According to a Healthcare Finance News report the CLCHD shared on Facebook Tuesday, the average cost of hospital care for COVID-19 ranges from $51,000 to $78,000, based on age.
"COVID-19 hospital stays can cost thousands," said the CLCHD. "Vaccines are free and effective. If you were to contract the virus, vaccines prevent the risk of serious illness leading to hospitalizations."
The CLCHD says walk-in vaccinations are available at 614 S. Greeley Highway from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3:35 p.m. until Thursday of this week, and vaccines will be available Monday through Friday at 100 Central Avenue starting next week.
