The Cheyenne City Council is considering whether or not to terminate its $505,000 agreement with the Cheyenne Animal Shelter for animal control and shelter services.

The move comes just weeks after CAS President and CEO Bob Fecht ordered the use of pepper spray on an 80 pound pit bull named Tanner after the dog attacked employee Marissa Cox.

The CAS Board investigated the incident and voted last Monday night to suspend Fecht for 60 days without pay.

But Councilman Rocky Case's proposed resolution says "the CAS Board has failed to take timely, appropriate action to resolve the situation."

The Committee of the Whole will meet at 6 p.m. on Oct. 3 to take public comment on the matter.
