Author Describes Being Transgender in Wyoming In New Book
On March 10, author Alex Myers will be talking about his new book, Continental Divide, at Night Heron Books from 6-8 pm. This will be one of the seven stops on his tour regarding his novel about a young transgender man's adventures in Wyoming.
Continental Divide tells the story of Ron Bancroft, a young transgender man who goes west after being cut off from his family. His goal: to live as a "real man". After traveling to Cody, WY, Bancroft finds work on a dude ranch and begins a life of adventure, danger, and romance.
This story, though fiction, is based partially on Myers' own experiences as a transgender in Wyoming, where he lived during the summer of 1997.
