Pets in Costumes: A Parade of Fun
Most people enjoy a good costume, young or not so young. Pet costumes are a different level of cute, though. A party specifically created to bring your costumed pets? I’d forgo a bag of candy for that, even though (pet) candy is included.
“The Fangs and Fur: Tricks, Treats, and Tails for Halloween” will be hosted by Pleebr of Laramie the weekend before Halloween.
When: Saturday, Oct. 28, 4-8 p.m.
Where: Laramie Plains Civic Center North Gym (Kenny Sailors Gym)
Pleebr, an app designed for community connectivity, said, “We aim to create a magical environment where pets and their owners can come together to embrace the whimsy and charm of Halloween.”
Fangs and Fur’s main event will be a Pet Parade of Costumes. Deck out your Dalmatian, or twin up with your terrier for an entertaining show.
A Pet Smart survey found that 76 percent of pet owners like to dress up their animal companions for Halloween, and one-third of respondents have more than one costume picked. And city-dwellers like to match their pets: 70 percent of urbanites have matched their pets’ attire.
Along with the parade, there’s a costume contest of course, and trick-or-treat stations, a Halloween hunt (the Pumpkin Prowl), and pet-themed vendor fairs. Photo and story opportunities will be available, as hosts want to hear your pet-loving stories.
Pleebr wants Laramie to embrace their Halloween spirit and their community spirit “as pet lovers and families come together to celebrate Halloween in a unique and fun-filled atmosphere.”
