Ask the City – Why Aren’t Bicycle Laws Enforced?
Your Question:
Why isn't there more done to enforce bicycle laws? Bicyclists are riding on the sidewalks, riding against traffic, not yielding to traffic signals, e.g. stop signs, traffic lights, etc. A serious accident will occur if bicyclists continue to violate traffic laws.
The City's Response:
Officers of the PD enforce bike laws as time allows, just as enforcement of vehicle and parking ordinances. Specific complaints can be reported by calling the Dispatch Center at 721-2526.
