Albany County Sheriff's Office Shuts Down Certain Services

Albany County Sheriff’s Office announced on its Facebook page that they will be suspending specific services effective immediately, until further notice. This is due to the spread of COVID-19.

The following services are suspended:

Fingerprinting services
Inmate visitation at the Albany County Detention Center
All inmate group meetings at the Albany County Detention Center
Concealed firearms applications/renewals

VIN inspections will be conducted without face to face contact. Our office staff will explain how this will work. Their hours for VIN inspections are from 9 am – 3 pm, Monday-Thursday, and from 8 am-12 pm on Friday. If you need a VIN inspection, please call the Albany County Sheriff’s Office at 307-755-3520.

The Laramie Police Department is also available for VIN inspections from 12-4 pm, Sunday-Wednesday.

They will notify the public if there will be any future changes or when services return to normal.
