A pair of Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers were treated for minor injuries after a chase on Interstate 80 which led to the arrest of two New Mexico residents on Tuesday.

Nicole Anne Montano, 35, was booked into jail on recommended charges of reckless driving, fleeing to elude, two counts of aggravated assault and other traffic-related offenses.

Thien Uong, 33, was arrested on active warrants out of Nebraska and Kansas. He was also booked on a recommended charge of possession of stolen property.

According to a statement from the Patrol, Albany County Sheriff's deputies tried to stop a dark green Acura driven by Montano on I-80 east of Laramie for a registration violation. Montano allegedly took off, driving eastbound into Laramie County.

State troopers joined the chase and were able to successfully deploy spike strips west of Cheyenne. Near milepost 357, Montano drove off the road and continued in the barrow ditch for a short distance.

Then, Montano tried to re-enter I-80 eastbound and hit a state trooper's vehicle. Montano shifted into reverse and hit another state trooper's vehicle before she stopped. Montano and Uong were then arrested.

Suspected stolen property was found inside the vehicle, according to the Patrol, but the property was not described in detail.

The two troopers who were injured received treatment at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for minor injuries and were then released. They were not identified in the Patrol's statement Tuesday.
