While lower elevation areas of southeast Wyoming should see very only light to moderate snowfall today, up to a foot of snow could fall in some mountain areas, according to the Cheyenne office of the National Weather Service.

The weather service issued the following statement on Wednesday morning, Oct. 10:

"Light to moderate snow will fall over much of southeast Wyoming today as another weather disturbance passes by the area. The heaviest snow is anticipated over Carbon county, particularly over the mountains. The snow will taper off this evening. Hunters and others outdoors in this area are urged to remain aware of conditions and be cautious. Travel will be impacted due to reduced visibilities and slick roads, mainly between Rawlins and Laramie."
