Your Question:

Why do bike lanes disappear at busy intersections and when will more be added around town?

The City's Response:

Bike lanes are not painted within the last ½ block or so of the intersection for a couple of reasons.  Not having bike lanes allows motorized vehicles to “spread out” and move closer to the curb for right turns.  Not having the bike lanes marked alerts bicyclists that they must share all the street with motorized vehicles.  There is insufficient width on Laramie streets to provide for through bike lane and right turn lane markings to both be installed as one sometimes sees in other cities.”
