Was Anyone Arrested for the Attacks on Women in October? – Ask The City

Some weeks ago, it was brought to the attention of all Laramie Residents that there had been some attacks on women as they were walking their dogs after dark. We never heard what eventually happened with that situation. As a young woman who frequently finds myself walking my pup during night hours, I have grown increasingly more uncomfortable being outside unsure if I am going to be attacked. Was someone caught in relation to this? I hate feeling uneasy and not knowing. Thank you!

The City's Response:

The two attacks took place on 16 and 19 October.  Since then, we have had no additional reports nor have we identified a suspect.  By all indications, the attacks were committed by the same person and there was no relationship between the two victims.  It is certainly possible that the suspect moved away, made a decision not to attack, or is waiting to attack again. We should assume that the risk to the community is still real and all residents should take reasonable precautions to avoid being victimized.
