Businesses stand to gain from participation in retail events and industry trade shows.  Brand awareness, export opportunities, and sales can all receive a significant boost at such events.  In order to help Wyoming businesses succeed, the Wyoming Business Council offers the Trade Show Incentive Grant to companies that fit the bill.

More than 300 businesses headquartered and making products in Wyoming have received assistance from the program since 2005.  This funding has enabled Wyoming-grown firms to visit more than 500 different shows in the state and around the world.  Events attended include Specialty Coffee Association of America and Coffee Fest in Seattle; Cowboy Christmas and National Hardware Show in Las Vegas; Fancy Food Show in Toronto, Ontario; Blade Show in Atlanta; and English Expo in Seoul, South Korea.

“Applicants attend both wholesale and retail shows. As long as the show has a regional, national or international audience, we will consider the application,” says Wyoming Products Program Manager Terri Barr.  “This grant is welcome support to many Wyoming companies. Some could not attend these shows without this assistance, and they greatly appreciate the opportunity.”

Approved expenses– including booth fees, marketing materials, and transportation costs– are reimbursed up to 50 percent by the Trade Show Incentive Grant.

The program was engineered to accommodate, letting companies apply up to one year before the beginning of an event or as little as 60 days prior to the first day of the show.

Applications and additional information are available by contacting Terri Barr at terri.barr@wyo.gov, or at 307-777-2807.  The Trade Show Incentive Grant guidelines are available here.
