State Senator Chris Rothfuss doesn’t expect too many surprises during the upcoming 2019 state legislative session that begins Jan. 8.

The Senate Minority Leader joined the “Laramie Live on KOWB” radio morning show Thursday for an in-depth conversation on what’s coming up. Rothfuss serves on the Education Committee, so he knows the major topic will be funding, and whether or not cuts in funding will be happening, and how much. Rothfuss also serves on the Minerals, Business, and Economic Development Committee. He spoke about how the state is still facing its current budget crunch, despite some better economic news in the last year. Rothfuss also addressed ENDOW, the state’s energy sector, plus other topics like gaming and gambling.

Rothfuss has served as a state senator from the 9th district since 2011. He was first elected Senate Minority Floor Leader in 2013 and has been re-elected in that role ever since.

Rothfuss can be reached via email at Chris.Rothfuss@wyoleg.gov. More contact information can be found through the State of Wyoming’s Legislature website.

The 2019 general session starts Jan. 8 and goes through either Feb. 28 or March 1. Governor-elect Mark Gordon will give his first “State of the State” address on Wednesday, Jan. 9.
