Hollywood is gearing up for its biggest annual event, the Academy Awards. You'll be able to get a feel for the red carpet right here in Laramie thanks to the Student Activities Council. They're hosting an Oscar watching party that is free and open to anyone.

Stop by the University of Wyoming Union Family Room on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 5 p.m. to get in on the entertainment. There will be plenty of food and a variety of Oscar themed games with prizes, so be sure to brush up on your Oscar trivia before attending.

Before the Oscars are handed out, we're curious as to how many people have actually seen the films that are nominated for Best Picture. Sometimes it seems as though the more popular films are hardly mentioned during awards season.  Let us know below whether or not the Academy Awards involve films that are being watched or just talked about by critics.

If you are hoping to see more of the nominees, some of them will be shown during the Spring Film Series at the Wyo Theatre.
